how to apply a tail cover?
One of the cool features of our tails is that you can dress the skeleton with different fur covers, applying your tail cover effectively can be a little tricky at first, but once you get the hang of it it's quick and easy! We hope that the below instructions are helpful.
Remove the belt if it's already been applied to your tail skeleton, this will make it easier to loop the shoestring through the base.
Slide tail cover over skeleton and align the bottom of the tail cover (grommet with seam closest) to the bottom of the tail skeleton (round circular part of tail base) these will be the parts of the tail facing the floor.
Take shoestring and align the two plastic ends to prepare the process of threading for attachment.
Pull the shoestring ends through the 2 bottom holes on the back plate
Pull both ends of shoestring through the bottom grommet.
Pull through grommet like so
Once both ends are pulled through the bottom grommet, take one of the sides to continue the attachment process.
Find the side grommet that you'll be looping to continue the attachment process
Slide shoestring down through the side grommet
Complete bringing shoestring through side grommet like so
Push shoestring through side hole on backplate
Pull through like so
Weave back up through side hole 2 like so
bring shoestring back up through the side grommet like so
Side grommet attached, now you can flip the tail over to prepare attaching the other side grommet using the same steps you did on this one, just on the other side
Take other shoestring side and prepare to attach other side grommet to tail base
Push the second shoestring through the top of the other side grommet like so
Take shoestring through bottom of tail cover and prepare to pass through tail base
Push shoestring through tailbase side hole 1
Pull through tail base side hole 1
Push shoestring back up through side hole 2 and weave up through the same grommet on tail cover the way out
Push shoestring up through tail cover grommet
Pull both shoestrings tight but not too tight (not too tight, don't let your animalistic strength come out, don't break the plastic backing!) now the top of the tail should be facing the ceiling. This is the orientation you will wear the tail at.
Take the longer shoestring side (if both are the same length, just pick one) and weave it down through the top of the final grommet
Weave down through the final grommet like so.
Weave shoestring down through top base hole 1
Down through base hole 1 like so
Pull it through like so
Weave shoestring back up and out base hole 2 and up through the final grommet
Push through the bottom of final grommet like so
Pull both shoestrings tight but not too tight, careful not to break
Grab press lock and came with your tail cover and pull both ends through, tightening it to secure the fur cover.
Pull tight like so
Tie 2 knots just to ensure extra security ontop of the lock
Push the lock and ties underneath the fur cover to hide them out of sight using your finger and your other hand to pull the fur up and over.
The fur cover is on, now lets get the belt attached again!
Grab your belt and make sure the buckle is facing you
Weave the belt through the top of the back plate and then through. Like so.
And back through like so
Don't forget to re apply your belt loop!
Push belt up through back of buckle plate slot 1 and then down through plate slot 2, and then finally through your belt loop.
Attach the belt to you and adjust the fit so that it's nice and snug, be gentle with the tail and it will last for years to come!
